Memphis Grizzlies offseason move No. 2: Extend Grayson Allen

One thing that Allen is very good at on the basketball court is shooting 3-point shots. He was drafted by the Utah Jazz in 2018 on the strength of his shooting and has developed his game further in the subsequent two seasons he has been with the Grizzlies.

He came over in the Mike Conley trade from the Jazz as the Grizzlies looked to rejuvenate their roster. Allen is 25 and starting to show some tremendous potential. His scoring average has increased every season that he has been in the league, going up in direct relation to the number of minutes he has been getting.

He has shot the ball at 39.5 percent during his two seasons with the Grizzlies. This shooting helps space the floor for Morant who is the engine room for the Grizzlies. Morant creates for himself and others through his drives and defenders cannot cheat off Allen to slow Morant down.

Allen has one year left on his deal and is due for his rookie extension. The Grizzlies will be looking to sign Allen up to $10.0 million per season. This will allow him to develop the chemistry required with the rest of the team to become a very good franchise.
