Potential NBA draft night trade partners for the Pistons: 1. Houston Rockets

Oh, the Houston Rockets would love to make a trade with the Pistons involving draft picks. That is for certain, but the deals that may be available to them won’t be the one they want most, which is the first overall pick.

The Rockets are one of 30 teams craving Cade Cunningham, but even they seem to be realizing that there’s no prying that first overall pick away from Detroit. So maybe they’ll do a deal with one of their three picks; the second pick, the 23rd pick and the 24th pick.

Picks 23 and 24 are obviously a bit less valuable than the selections owned by the Knicks and Thunder, but they may still be in the range that Weaver could utilize if a player he likes higher starts to slip. My guess is that if the Pistons and Rockets do a deal, it will be right before the pick is made rather than in advance.

What could the Pistons send the Rockets for one of these picks? Possibly a package involving Josh Jackson.
