Washington Wizards offseason move No. 2: Re-sign Robin Lopez

One of the unsung heroes of the Wizards playoff run was Robin Lopez. The only player in the league who can out-Slo-Mo Kyle Anderson with his hook shot that he starts to shoot from his hip. He is surprisingly effective with the shot.

Lopez averaged 9.0 points per game on just 6.0 shot attempts. This equates to a very healthy 63.3 percent from the field which is useful when you have Beal who led the league in scoring until the final week, and Westbrook who led the league in assists.

While he was the second or third-string center for the franchise, his team leaders had confidence in Lopez when he got the ball. This chemistry will be vital if the Wizards are going to improve on their position in the standings from this season.

Lopez also provides excellent rim protection, he takes a backward step to nobody. The play that comes to mind was in the first round against Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers. Embiid had been dominant and Lopez came on, slowing the big man down. Embiid went for one of his hard drives to the hoop, only to be met above the rim and denied.
