Charlotte Hornets: 5 household free agent targets to pair with LaMelo Ball

The Charlotte Hornets should pursue Daniel Theis in 2021 NBA Free agency
Yet another soon-to-be free agent big man that already has been linked to the Charlotte Hornets is Daniel Theis. First reported by The Charlotte Observer’s Rick Bonnell, Theis is a name he has heard floating around on the rumor wire that could be an enticing target for the Hornets to fill their center needs.
Adding Theis would by no means be a needle-moving addition by any stretch of the imagination, but he would be a solid veteran to throw into the mix. Splitting the season between the Boston Celtics and the Chicago Bulls, the 29-year-old put up serviceable numbers primarily in a starting position by averaging 9.6 points while shooting 54.1 percent from the field, while also totaling 5.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game. Defensively, the big man is not the most formidable threat in the middle, but he can do a solid job to hold his own.
He might not be the most star-studded player that fits the billing for Charlotte’s need at center this offseason, but Theis could be an under-the-radar target. He would give them solid two-way production, particularly a boost offensively, while also bringing another much-needed veteran presence to the locker room to help this team take another right step towards contention. While they have some spending money to utilize, they could also likely sign Theis without going overboard to potentially address other needs as well. Time will tell, but it is not far-fetched to believe that Charlotte’s reported interest in Theis is genuine.
