Philadelphia 76ers move to make No. 1: Re-sign George Hill
After being a key member of the Milwaukee Bucks last season, leading the league in 3-point percentage, Hill found himself as a member of the OKC Thunder at the start of the season. As a true professional, Hill played hard for the Thunder, despite knowing that they were going for a high draft pick.
It was this professionalism and desire to compete which led the 76ers to make the trade for him. They were looking for another experienced floor-spacer who could help run the team at any point in the game. Hill did this with his usual class.
He only averaged 6.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.9 assists in 18.9 minutes per game. The problem was that Hill was still recovering from the surgery to his thumb when he was acquired by the 76ers. This meant that he was only able to play 16 games for his new franchise.
This did not stop him from shooting the 3-ball at 39.1 percent, spacing the floor for the likes of Embiid, Tobias Harris, and Ben Simmons. While his contract is $10.0 million, the 76ers can use the veteran’s experience and, given a full offseason, he should be able to improve on those numbers next season. This should help the 76ers go deeper into the playoffs.
