The Portland Trail Blazers had another season mired by injury. They lost starting center Jusuf Nurkic to an arm injury in an innocuous-looking defensive play. He would have made the same play 100’s of times during his career, this one was just unlucky.

Then this was compounded by the loss of CJ McCollum to an ankle injury. Fortunately, the Trail Blazers had the talents of Damian Lillard amongst others and they were able to have a 14-11 record during that time. However, who is to know how much that effort took out of Lillard for the remainder of the season.

However, it was not all doom and gloom for the Trail Blazers. They qualified directly for the playoffs in the sixth seed and then took the Denver Nuggets to six games before eventually bowing out. The Trail Blazers head coach, Terry Stotts then resigned after nine seasons in charge

The Portland Trail Blazers had another injury-filled season. Now that it is over, here are five offseason roster moves they need to make.

The Trail Blazers made one really big trade for their franchise at the deadline.. They sent Rodney Hood and Gary Trent to the Toronto Raptors and received Norman Powell in return. Powell averaged 17.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.3 steals in 34.4 minutes per game. He was the key piece of the three-guard lineup which was so hard to stop.

They also made a low-key signing when they signed Rondae Hollis-Jefferson to a ten-day contract. He performed well enough that they offered him a second ten-day contract and then for the rest of the season. Now, with all this in mind, let’s take a look at the five offseason roster moves the Portland Trail Blazers need to make.
