Miami Heat offseason roster move No. 4: Find a sign and trade for Kendrick Nunn

When Kendrick Nunn burst onto the scene back in the 2019-20 season, he had a full four seasons in college. He went undrafted, before playing for the Santa Cruz Warriors in the G-League. He then scored 40 points in a per season game back in 2019, meaning the Heat signed him to his deal.

The thing is that Nunn did not earn good money from basketball until he was 24 years old which is a lot later than most and only made $3.1 million over the past two and a bit seasons of his contracts. This means that Nunn is going to want to maximize his earning potential while he can.

This should not be a problem for Nunn as he is averaging 15.0 points, 3.0 assists, 2.9 rebounds, and 0.9 steals in 29.4 minutes per game. This level of production is going to get the interest of a lot of teams, despite the fact that Nunn is a one-way player.

In order for the Heat to get some value for the risk they took two seasons ago, a sign and trade for Nunn appears to be their best option. He has garnered interest from New York who needs some scoring power to help Julius Randle out.
