2021 NBA Draft: 28. Charles Bassey compares to Aron Baynes

While the overwhelming majority of the league is attempting to go small, Charles Bassey is doing his best to keep the big man alive. The Western Kentucky big fella made defenses pay during his three years.

In each season, Bassey got noticeably better. From 14.6 points per game in his rookie year to 15.3 in his second season to averaging a career-best 17.6 points to go along with, he also showed a willingness to improve his overall game. Bassey shot 30.5% from the 3-point line.

Another big bruising player who’s attempting to add to his game is Aron Baynes. So far, he’s bounced around the league but has been a rotational piece everywhere he’s gone. Baynes is a tough interior defender, decent inside scorer and he’s even starting to make occasional 3-pointers.

Bassey won’t change life for whoever takes him but he’ll stick around the league for a very long time.
