2021 NBA Draft: 24. Josh Christopher comares to Jaylen Brown

Initially, it was all about attacking the basket for Jaylen Brown. Built like a mini tank, he thoroughly enjoyed posterizing defenders. At this very moment, the game of Josh Christopher is predicated on his ability to get to the rim. In addition to that, he also takes pride in giving his opponents buckets but refuses to give up any in return.

At 6’5 and already possessing an NBA body, Christopher looks like a carbon copy of Brown. While his shooting percentage from the field of 43.2 isn’t impressive, his overall numbers take a big hit when factoring in his poor 3-point stroke. Christopher nailed only 30.5% from behind the arc. His 2-point field goal percentage jumps all the way up to 49.6 when we move away from his horrific accuracy from distance.

Christopher is as athletic as anyone in this draft and he’ll be a defensive specialist the moment he enters the league. In order to survive in the NBA, Christopher will have to take a page out of Brown’s book and continue to work on his shot. What was once viewed as a weakness, simply isn’t anymore. Two seasons prior, Brown nailed 38.2%. He took things to another level this past year, making 39.7% from behind the arc.

The athleticism, impressive build and overall game closely mirror Brown but to warrant these comparisons, he’ll have to become a viable 3-point threat, just as Brown has.
