Indiana Pacers offseason roster move No. 5: Guarantee Oshae Brissett

The Pacers are looking for decent production at a very low cost. Oshae Brissett is the very definition of this mantra. His contract, should the Pacers choose to guarantee it is only worth $1.7 million which is crucial for the Pacers’ bottom line for next season.

Brissett is a really good story for the Pacers. He was signed to a 10-day contract at the start of April, then signed a second 10-day contract. At the end of both of these, the Pacers decided to sign him to a three-year, $4.0 million deal with the second and third years non-guaranteed.

The reason for this is Brissett averaged 10.9 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. He was incredibly efficient as well, going at 48.3 percent from the floor and 42.3 percent from deep. He even started 16 of the 21 games that he played.

It is finding players like this which helps teams no end. Depth is a key to attacking the NBA regular season in order to keep the top players in the team healthy, hopefully for a deep playoff run. If the Pacers can keep their team on the court, they should at least make the playoffs next season.
