Indiana Pacers offseason roster move No. 4: Trade Jeremy Lamb

The Pacers have a large number of shooting guards on their roster. They also have $120 million in committed salaries and a need to re-sign players. They also need to find a way of getting some more quality players to the franchise to improve their place in the standings.

In that vein, Jeremy Lamb is going to cost the Pacers $10.5 million next season which is too much money for a player who only played only half the season. He was able to average 10.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 0.9 steals in 21.3 minutes per game.

It is unlikely that Lamb would net the Pacers a first-round draft pick. If the Pacers were to attach Lamb to the 13th pick in the draft, they might an attractive enough package to tempt a team higher in the draft to make the trade.

While Lamb has been a good player since he arrived from the Charlotte Hornets except that he has missed too much time with injury. This is a potential drawback for the Pacers to being able to trade him but to be fair, if the Pacers were to get a second-round pick, this would give them more cap flexibility.
