NBA Finals: 3 takeaways from Bucks-Suns Game 2 – No. 1: Devin Booker was made for these moments

In just his first career postseason, 24-year-old superstar Devin Booker continues to shine on the NBA’s biggest stage for the Phoenix Suns. After many called him a “stat-padder” early on and with coaches and media continuously disrespecting him by not naming him an All-Star, Booker won’t stop proving the doubters wrong.

During Game 2 of the NBA Finals, the non-stop growing star dropped 32 points on 12-of-25 field goals, six assists, five rebounds, and drilled seven 3-pointers to inspiringly lift his team. Booker slowly found his shooting rhythm as time progressed, but erupted for 21 points coming out of halftime that included six 3’s and a plethora of clutch shots to sink the Bucks.

“Those are the moments that he lives for,” Monty Williams said postgame. “He doesn’t run from it. I’ve seen it from him for two years. He just steps up and makes big plays.” Chris Paul added that his backcourt partner was “built for this.”

We’ve seen Booker thrive in these vital moments game after game throughout these playoffs, so it shouldn’t even be a surprise how dominant and confident he’s been while embracing the challenge. It’s been amazing to witness the poise, killer instinct, and incredible shot-making abilities that Booker has recently showcased under pressure.

The late Kobe Bryant told Devin Booker to “Be Legendary” during Booker’s young career, and that’s exactly what he’s striving toward by continuing to uplift his legacy with these memorable performances. Game 2 of the NBA Finals was just the latest example. Evidently, Booker was made for these kinds of moments.
