Chicago Bulls offseason roster move No. 1: Re-sign Daniel Theis

The Bulls looked like a better squad when Theis was on the floor. He scored the ball well, averaging 10.0 points per game He was also solid on the boards collecting 5.9 rebounds per game, of which 1.7 of these was on the offensive glass.

He did struggle a little from deep, only making 28.1 percent of his 2.5 attempts from beyond the arc. If he can get closer to his 33.5 percent career mark, Theis is going to be a very valuable stretch-five playing behind Vucevic in the normal rotations.

The big reason for this is Theis is a really good defender, be it one-on-one or in a team situation. This will help the Bulls potentially become a top-10 defense next season which would be huge for the franchise.

Last season Theis was only on $5.0 million, but the Bulls hold his Early Bird rights which means that they are able to offer him a decent contract, should they go over the cap. The problem for the Bulls is there are a lot of teams with cap space available who have the potential to offer Theis the money to lure him away.
