Sacramento Kings: 5 offseason roster moves they need to make
Sacramento Kings offseason roster move No. 4: Trade Marvin Bagley
Originally taken with pick No. 2 of the 2018 NBA draft, Bagley has never quite fulfilled the promise associated with a pick taken that high in the draft. He averaged 14.9 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 1.0 blocks, and 0.5 steals in his rookie year.
These were good numbers for a rookie on a team that needed some good production from their high draft pick. The problem for Bagley and the Kings is that he did not develop any further in the Kings system. In fact, most of his raw numbers slightly regressed for the most part.
He has had issues with injuries for the three years, with his best season being his rookie year where he only missed 20 games. He only played 13 games in his sophomore season and then missed 29 in the season just finished.
He could get the Kings a really good future piece or help them by getting a second pick in the 2021 NBA draft which is considered one of the strongest in a long time. He has a good chance of developing in another system into a highly impactful player. If the Kings do not do this then they risk losing Bagley for nothing at the end of the season.
