Best Game 7 performances in NBA Playoffs history: 24. Blake Griffin (2015)

When “Lob City” first burst onto the scene, everyone got their popcorn. On a nightly basis, the LA Clippers were doing something to make fans jump out of their seats. Whether it was Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan throwing down video game like dunks or Jamal Crawford and Chris Paul making defenders look bad, the Clippers were always up to something.

But while the flash was always fun to watch, many questioned if they had any substance to go along with it. As the San Antonio Spurs matched up with them in the opening round of the 2015 playoffs, everyone was about to find out what they were made of.

With a chance to step out of the Los Angeles Lakers shadow, the Clippers showed that they were for real. Also, more importantly, Griffin proved that he was a superstar. The human highlight scored 24 points on 50 percent from the field. He banged bodies down low and produced 13 rebounds. Griffin also gave point guard Chris Paul the night off as he took care of running the offense and finished the game with 10 assists.

The Clippers would go on to win the game and immediately became everyone’s favorite to get out of the West. But, in true Clipper fashion, they blew a 3-1 lead against the Houston Rockets in the following round and were sent packing.
