At this point, playing without Derrick Rose had become very familiar to the Chicago Bulls. Starting in 2012, Rose began his long injury-riddled journey. Having torn his ACL the year prior, center Joakim Noah had stepped up all season long and became a bonafide MVP candidate.

While they weren’t expected to make much noise in the playoffs, Noah made sure they were a tough out. In Game 7 of a first round matchup against the Brooklyn Nets, Noah flashed an all-around game that had many believing that he was the best big man in the game.

Always known as an anemic scorer, he wasn’t on this night. Noah dropped 24 big points and crashed the glass in a huge way with 14 total rebounds, half of which came on the offensive side of the ball. Noah showed exactly why he was a multiple-time All-Defensive player and Defensive Player of the Year by sending six of the Nets shots into the stands.

Although they took care of business against the Nets, they fell flat against the eventual champions in the next round, the Miami Heat.
