Best Game 7 performances in NBA Playoffs history: 13. LeBron James (2018)

Stat line:

  • 35 points
  • 15 rebounds
  • 9 assists
  • 2 blocks

Everything seemed to be falling perfectly into place. LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers managed to make it to the Eastern Conference Finals but it was a struggle to get there.

The young, upstart Boston Celtics appeared to be ready to make their first NBA Finals since 2010. Jaylen Brown was a decent scorer but a phenomenal defender, Al Horford was a perennial All-Star and great overall player. Last and certainly not least, was Jayson Tatum, a budding young superstar who didn’t care if he was up against LeBron James and threw it down right over the top of him during a close Game 7.

Tatum was good that night, scoring 24 points and grabbing 8 rebounds but James was great. He scored 35 points, hauled in 15 boards, registered 9 dimes and blocked two shots. The Cavaliers would go on to win the game by 8 points on the Celtics home court and with that, it was the eighth straight Finals appearance for James.
