What the NBA Finals mean for the Milwaukee Bucks: P.J. Tucker

P.J. Tucker has been a force to be reckoned with in these playoffs and has filled a void that the Milwaukee Bucks have needed for a while now. Ever since Tuck was acquired before this season’s trade deadline, he’s helped improve this team beyond measures with his tenacity, grit, hustle, heart, and fierce resolve. Making his first NBA Finals appearance was pure relief for the veteran forward after a long career filled with ups and downs.

“It’s unreal. Probably one of the lowest moments I had to start the season out to being exactly where I see myself in Milwaukee,” an emotional Tucker said. “I didn’t actually choose Milwaukee. We chose each other, organically.”

Tucker also mentioned how he still hasn’t processed all of it yet, and that there’s still more work to be done. No matter the result, the Bucks and P.J. Tucker will always hold mutual respect for one another as they inch closer to the finish line. It’s been a career-altering second half of the season for Tuck as he continues to be an influential leader on and off the court for this ball club.

Bobby Portis

It’s safe to say that Bobby Portis was one of the most, if not the top, undervalued free agent signing of the offseason this year. Portis bet on himself by signing an inexpensive two-year, $7.4 million contract with Milwaukee so that he could earn a defined role on a championship contender.

Well, he’s certainly proved himself as he’s stayed ready and mentally prepared in order to thrive for the Bucks this postseason while maximizing his role. Portis has become a fan favorite across the Milwaukee Bucks organization due to his relentless energy and ‘underdog’ mentality, which means a lot to him.

Bobby is one of those guys that’s had to overcome a bunch of adversity throughout his career while experiencing tough stretches of discomfort, but now he’s a key contributor on a team that’s headed to the NBA Finals. Portis should be very proud of himself.
