What the NBA Finals mean for the Milwaukee Bucks: Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton

Of course, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton have been members of the Milwaukee Bucks together since 2013. From rock bottom to superstardom, they have gone from winning 15 games in an entire season to now chasing 16 postseason wins in a season.

Both have had inspirational story-filled careers, to say the least. Antetokounmpo, who grew up selling items on the streets while sharing shoes with his brothers, came into the league as a skinny 18-year-old kid from Greece that could barely speak English. Giannis’ transformation from being drafted 15th overall by the Bucks to everything that he’s accomplished so far has been astonishing and one of the best storylines that we’ll ever see from a professional athlete.

Clearly, Antetokounmpo has worked extremely hard to get to this point in his career and deserves this moment without any doubts. His undeniable work ethic, unconventional loyalty, and illustrious determination has brought the one-of-a-kind superstar to the biggest stage in basketball at just 26 years old.

Middleton, a second-round draft pick that played in the G League before being traded by the Detroit Pistons as an “add-on” piece to Milwaukee, has defied the odds by evolving into an established All-Star and legitimate second option on a title-contending team that continues to shine under the spotlight. It’s been a unique and incredible journey for both Khris and Giannis, and it must mean the world to them to be in this position, especially together, after all, they’ve been through since the beginning of their careers.

As Holiday stated, “Khris is the heart of this team and Giannis is the soul of this team.” You could just tell how much it meant for those two star overachievers as they embraced each other with a long hug after the final buzzer sounded in Atlanta.
