Toronto Raptors offseason roster move No. 1: Re-sign Gary Trent

Trent only played 17 games for the Raptors but he had a massive impact in a large number of them. In the fourth game that he played, Trent exploded for 31 points. However, it was the next game that had a lot of people talking.

Trent only had 24 points but had a plus 54 impact on the box score, in a 53 point win over the Golden State Warriors. However, that was not the most impressive game that Trent played for the Raptors.

This honor goes to the 44 point outburst he had against the Cleveland Cavaliers. He went 17-of-19 from the floor, only missing two of his nine attempts from deep. Trent is a talent that we are seeing being unlocked before our eyes.

Given a full offseason working with the coaching staff and learning how the team plays and what his role in it may be, Trent could become a key piece for the Raptors. Given that he only earned $1.6 last season, Trent is going to be looking to get a decent payday.

The Raptors have $101 million of salary on their books for next season. They have their future in their own hands with some of the moves they can make, meaning that signing Trent is not only possible but should be a key move the Raptors make.
