Ranking NBA Draft classes from 1995-2020: 3. 2011
From the top pick to the last pick, the 2011 Draft class was exceptionally deep and decorated. Kyrie Irving was the top choice and is the owner of one of the most memorable shots in recent NBA Finals history. The 60th pick in the draft was Isaiah Thomas, an All-Star and All-NBA guard in his own right, whose peak was short-lived due to injury.
Kawhi Leonard was the steal of the draft, going 15th overall and turning into a two-time Finals MVP for two different organizations. Klay Thompson was drafted 11th and is a multi-time champion and one of the most fluid shooters the league has ever seen. Kemba Walker s beginning to succumb to injuries but he was the face of a franchise for nearly a decade and thrived as the ultimate team player.
Jimmy Butler is the final member of the draft to make an All-NBA team and has been a cult of personality in every stop throughout his career. The bubble run to the Finals is his crowning achievement to date, proving that he is capable of leading a team to the apex. Nikola Vucevic is the only All-Star in the class who has not also made All-NBA but he is still a special player.
Rounding out the depth of the class are Tristan Thompson, Reggie Jackson, Markieff and Marcus Morris, Jonas Valanciunas, Tobias Harris and Bojan Bogdanovic. No less than three championship cores were fortified with this draft with the potential for the Clippers to add another this year.
