Ranking NBA Draft classes from 1995-2020: 6. 2008

Another class with multiple future MVPs, one of them was predictable enough on the night of the 2008 NBA Draft. Derrick Rose was the type of no-doubt, surefire prospect that franchises dream about and went on to be the youngest MVP in the league. Russell Westbrook’s MVP campaign was polarizing, to say the least, but since then he has ascended to the top of the triple-double mountain and has averaged a triple-double in four of the last five seasons.

Kevin Love did something neither of his fellow top five picks accomplished, winning a championship with the 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers. Love has been treated poorly in recent years, talked more about as a contract than a person, but during his time in the spotlight, he was highly decorated in his own right.

Brook Lopez, DeAndre Jordan and Roy Hibbert are three of the other players to make All-Stars teams and Lopez is still a contributing factor on a contending team after completely overhauling his game. Goran Dragic is the final former All-Star and by far took the most unique path of anyone involved.

Also in the class are former Sixth Man of the Year Eric Gordon, Danilo Gallinari, JaVale McGee, Serge Ibaka, Nicolas Batum and George Hill among others. Off-court issues defined plenty of what went on with this class (Rose, OJ Mayo and Michael Beasley chief among them) but the talent level was extremely high.
