Ranking NBA Draft classes from 1995-2020: 11. 2006

For having such a forgettable (to put it kindly) number one overall pick, the 2006 draft turned out to be rather solid. LaMarcus Aldridge was the second overall pick and made seven All-Star appearances and five All-NBA teams. Brandon Roy, also drafted by the Portland Trail Blazers in the top 10, was a shooting star across the sky. He made three All-Star appearances in five seasons for the Blazers before he was forced to retire due to degenerative knee injuries. Had he been able to stay healthy he was destined to be one of the faces of the league.

Rajon Rondo and Kyle Lowry are the other two players from this class to make All-NBA teams and were starting point guards for championship teams. Rondo was a star early in his career before transferring to a veteran leadership role while Lowry wandered the league for a team before transcending to his status as the greatest Toronto Raptor in history.

Paul Millsap is the final All-Star from this class and was a joy to watch the 2016 Atlanta Hawks that earned the top seed in the Conference. Rudy Gay and JJ Redick may not be All-Stars, but they have been essential cogs to playoff teams. PJ Tucker seems to change the narrative every game about what a contender looks for in a role player as he is solely focused on defense. After 15 years, the role players from this draft are still making a huge impact.
