Cleveland Cavaliers: 5 offseason roster moves they need to make
Cleveland Cavaliers offseason move No. 4: Draft Evan Mobley if still available.
The Cavaliers have only one pick in the upcoming NBA draft. Fortunately for the franchise, they hold the third pick in what is reportedly a five-player draft. Thanks to this they have the ability to choose their own direction in the draft.
Currently, they are fairly high on selecting Evan Mobley with this pick. This would be a solid move for the franchise. As stated earlier, they have their starting backcourt with Garland and Sexton. They also have their starting pivot if they can re-sign Allen.
What Mobley offers a level of flexibility that coaches crave. He is a solid shot-blocker who has good instincts on defense. He has size and athleticism which he is able to combine with a high basketball IQ. This combination allows him to play the pivot or at the power forward positions.
He is also developing some of the skills required of a wing, having the ability to handle the ball in the open court, and has good range on his shot. Mobley has the potential to form a tremendous combination with the current crop of Cavaliers which will help them rise up the standings in the very near future.
