Cleveland Cavaliers offseason move No. 1: Re-sign Jarrett Allen

The Cavaliers have their backcourt for the foreseeable future in Garland, Sexton, and Okoro. They also seem to like Nance as their starting power forward, obviously, while Love is on the team, he is going to get the nod over Nance. However, Nance fits the timeline of the rebuild, Love does not.

They received their future franchise pivot in the Harden trade with Allen. He averaged 13.2 points, 9.9 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.4 blocks in 30.3 minutes per game. These numbers are really good for a 22-year-old player who is trying to find their way on a rebuilding team.

The thing about Allen is that you know what you are getting with him. He does not have a huge range on his shot but is happy to play within himself, making 60.6 percent of his 8.2 shot attempts per game. A big portion of his offense is the 3.9 offensive rebounds per game he is able to collect. He is also a strong finisher at the rim, using his leaping ability to finish alley-oops.

His rim protection is also a big part of his game and as the Cavaliers get more defensive chemistry, his presence will be massive. As young teams start to work it out so they can move up the standings. A strong defensive identity is required and this is something that Allen gives the Cavaliers.
