79. . Small Forward. Dallas Mavericks. Aaron Nesmith. 18. player

Aaron Nesmith goes in the same basic range as he did in the original 2020 NBA Draft, falling from 14 to 18 to go to the Dallas Mavericks. Injuries limited Nesmith to just 46 games this season, but he largely proved himself to be the player most expected coming into the league.

The former Vanderbilt wing shot 37 percent from long range, taking 60.7 percent of his shots from deep. Playing on a team trying to compete he saw just 14.5 minutes per game, with a low usage even when he was on the court.

The Dallas Mavericks would most likely deploy him in a similar role, reasonably expecting his shot to improve as he enters the season healthy. Playing alongside Luka Doncic would likely open up the court for him as well.

Defensively Nesmith was fine, nothing special but also not a targeted liability. Right now he projects as a bench wing, a valuable commodity but not worth a lottery pick.
