Orlando Magic offseason roster move No. 5: Use their draft capital well

The Magic have the fifth, the eighth, and the 33rd pick in the upcoming NBA draft. They have a number of options that they can utilize with these picks. In order to add more young talent, they can simply use these picks to draft players.

However, the Magic are in a very good position to package any one of these picks with a player to receive a talented player in return. They could also package these picks in an effort to move up the draft order in an effort to select the exact player that they want.

The importance of this draft cannot be understated. The Magic need to get one or two franchise cornerstones out of their transactions in this period. This is because they only have one first-round pick in the 2022 NBA draft.

If the Magic can manage this then they have a chance of speeding up their rebuild so that they can become relevant as far as playoff contention goes. They have a level of growth to come out of their current crop of young guys, the pieces that they add to this crop will determine how far the team goes in the next few years.
