Minnesota Timberwolves point guard target No. 4: Damian Lillard, Portland Trail Blazers

The rumors around a Damian Lillard trade have been swirling ever since the Trail Blazers got eliminated from the playoffs. While the Timberwolves have been a subject of these talks because of a potential KAT trade to Portland, what about the other way around?

The Timberwolves have the young players and draft capital to make a serious move at Damian Lillard, creating a package surrounding him is not completely out there, it’s very possible. He is the definition of a superstar point guard who is a difference-maker no matter where he goes. Along with Steph Curry, he is the pinnacle of the point guard position and from reports coming out, it sounds like he may available.

Lillard is a proven leader and one of, if not the, most clutch players in the NBA as a whole. He has seemingly unlimited range, they call him “Logo Lillard” for a reason, and is extremely effective from anywhere on the court.

Minnesota would, without a doubt, be a surefire playoff team and a likely championship contender. Pairing Lillard with Towns would create one of the best one-two punches in the NBA and could turn the T-wolves into a perennial Western Conference powerhouse.
