Milwaukee Bucks: 5 takeaways from resilient Game 7 triumph
2. Khris Middleton doesn’t miss clutch shots
In this postseason, Khris Middleton has continuously drained clutch shot after clutch shot, including a game-winner against the Miami Heat, and most recently, a go-ahead jumper to sink the Nets for good. Although, this is nothing new for the two-time All-Star.
With the game tied late in overtime, Middleton used an Antetokounmpo screen to penetrate into the lane, pick up his dribble, and then nail a beautiful fadeaway jumper over Bruce Brown to give the Bucks a 113-111 lead with 40.1 seconds remaining. It turned out to be the last made field goal of a back-and-forth Game 7, a shot that should be eternally remembered by the Milwaukee Bucks organization.
Middleton consistently delivers in late-game scenarios and has made a career out of it in a Bucks uniform. While he’s one of the most undervalued players in the league, he’s one of the most underrated clutch performers as well. He simply doesn’t get enough credit for how well he executes down the stretch whether it’s efficient shot-making or playmaking in general.
It’s been an amazing start to the postseason for Middleton as he’s easily met expectations thus far. On both ends of the floor, Khris has maximized his role as the No. 2 option for the Milwaukee Bucks, but when the time ticks down to crunch time, he can even become the undisputed No. 1 option. Evidently, Khris Middleton knows what it takes to come out on top.
