NBA: The 30 most unforgettable individual playoff runs: 19. Allen Iverson (2001)

Very few playoff runs are memorialized because the team is considered to be a one-man team. Typically, that would be disrespectful to the rest of the people on the team. In this case, it feels like an understatement to describe just how unprecedented what Allen Iverson did in 2001.

The regular season for Iverson was special enough. He was named the MVP of the league, averaging 31.1 points (led the league), 4.6 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 2.5 steals (led the league) per game. Somehow, this got even better in the postseason where he led the league in minutes per game (46.2) and posted a line of 32.9 points, 6.1 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 2.4 steals per game.

Iverson had eight 30 plus point games, four additional 40 plus point games and two more 50 plus point games along the way. The stepover of Tyronn Lue came in this Finals. Iverson even propelled his team to a win over the Lakers in the first game of the Finals, the only game the Lakers lost that postseason. In that game, Iverson went off for 48 points, six assists, five rebounds and five steals. Only three other Sixers scored in double-figures: Dikembe Mutombo (13 points), Eric Snow (13 points) and Matt Geiger (10 points). He truly was the one-man show.
