The Chicago Bulls could fill their point guard vacancy with Kemba Walker

It is no secret that the Chicago Bulls desperately need to add point guard help this offseason. They have lacked stability at the position since Derrick Rose was traded in the summer of 2016. It is one of the most significant things holding them back from making the leap into playoff contention in the Eastern Conference.

The Bulls have formed a lethal tandem in Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic, but they still lack a prototypical floor general that could help them take the next step. The front office is facing more pressure to shore up their guard depth after announcing that Coby White will be sidelined for approximately four to six months after he recently underwent shoulder surgery.

Depending on what transpires with Walker in OKC, he might have just shot to the list of Chicago’s potential targets to chase this offseason. Walker would bring a much-needed dose of playmaking to alleviate the ball-handling pressure of LaVine and Vucevic in what would be an interesting trio to watch, all things considered. He would be the most high-profile guard to handle the position in the Windy City since Rose was traded.

Not only would they be adding the point guard they need, but Walker would add a veteran presence in a locker room that is looking to turn the corner after missing the playoffs for the fourth consecutive season. Chicago’s newly revamped front office has shown their newfound aggressiveness before with the Vučević trade at last year’s deadline, and perhaps this could be another move on their mind.
