Why the Chicago Bulls should trade for Kemba Walker: Respected by his peers

Anyone who ever played a team sport knows that not every voice in the locker room carries the same weight. If a veteran gives instructions to a rookie, the younger player should probably just say “yes sir” and follow suit. In a team setting, respect is earned by time served and a proven ability to perform.

Kemba Walker not only has the time served, but the four-time All-Star also has a respected reputation that his peers respect. Walker is a New York City product. While casual fans know the Mecca of basketball for being the birthplace of legends like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Bob Cousy, it has also produced hard-nosed role players like Mario Elie and Joakim Noah. Walker learned how to play the game where many greats before him laid the foundation. His NBA peers are well aware of this.

The Chicago Bulls have a legitimate shot at making the 2022 playoffs. They are bringing back two All-Stars and their roster features talented young players with endless potential. Kemba Walker’s time in Boston may be running out but he still has a lot to offer. Bringing him into the fold as a veteran force to help the team return to postseason play makes perfect sense. Now, it is up to the front office to put together an offer together and make it a reality.
