The Chicago Bulls should trade for Kemba Walker in the offseason
The Chicago Bulls should put together a trade package for Kemba Walker.
Almost as soon as the Boston Celtics were eliminated by the Brooklyn Nets, rumors that Kemba Walker would be traded began to swirl. Walker did not play in Games 4 and 5 of the series; some critics went as far as to say he left Jayson Tatum to fend off the Nets alone. While that may be unfair, the offseason shakeup in Boston is an undeniable fact.
In fact, as of Friday morning, Walker has been traded to the OKC Thunder in return for Al Horford, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Walker moves are likely not done. Similar to Horford in OKC, Walker is not a strong fit and is likely being brought in as a leverage piece to gain players that fit the Thunder’s timeline or future draft picks. The Thunder will likely listen to deals on him all summer long.
The Chicago Bulls should make an offer for Kemba Walker
Kemba Walker is a savvy veteran who has a lot to offer a basketball team. The Chicago Bulls are a young team headed in the right direction. Going after Walker makes perfect sense.
This offseason, All-Stars Zach LaVine and Nikola Vučević will have a chance to gel and develop chemistry. They are two of the best players in the league at their respective positions. However, no orchestra can perform properly without a conductor. Kemba Walker has the potential to be Copland to Chicago’s “Appalachian Spring.” Let’s take a closer look at why the Bulls owe it to themselves to bring Mr. Walker to the Windy City.
