Dallas Mavericks: Considering five possible Kristaps Porzingis trades

Trade partner for Kristaps Porzingis: OKC Thunder
Finally, Al Horford was quietly solid for the OKC Thunder this season. He bounced back from a down year with the Philadelphia 76ers to average 14.2 points, 6.7 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game for the Thunder in just 28 games. Given that he is clearly not part of the future, flipping him for a future asset makes plenty of sense.
He also makes nearly $10 million less per season and is only partially guaranteed next season. This is a move for Dallas that allows them to add a defensive-minded veteran while also shaving the payroll and making their fit better. This would allow them to have a move where they would not have to take back nearly as much long-term salary and would not have to attach anything more than a second-round pick (Sam Presti loves those) to make the deal.
It may be among the least popular should it be announced but the fit quite possibly the cleanest and would present an avenue for the Mavericks to maneuver effectively in free agency before re-signing Tim Hardaway Jr. The Mavericks looked for toughness this season but Horford brings something different: maturity. He would be comfortable being the emotional leader and fulcrum of the Mavericks and would pick his spots on offense without stepping on any toes.
