Goal number 1 for Jonathan Isaac’s return: Stay Healthy

The number one priority for this season is making sure Jonathan Isaac stays healthy. Load-manage him when needed, he is the future of the Orlando Magic and neither party can afford another ACL injury.

Isaac has had a long history of injury ever since he entered the NBA, missing time for injuries to his ankle, foot, back and most recently his knee. Not to mention the time that he missed with a concussion in 2019.

Isaac will be asked to step up in a big way following his injury. With the former Magic core gone, he and Terrence Ross are the players that everyone will look up to because of their experience within the organization. While he’s still incredibly young at only 23 years old, the expectations for him are higher than ever.

If he can play around or upwards of 70 games in 2021, it’ll be considered a success. Regardless of whether the team is winning or losing this season, health is the number one priority. You don’t want to have a situation similar to when the Warriors rushed back Kevin Durant just for him to get immediately hurt again. The priority is player health and safety.
