The Portland Trail Blazers have had a much better season than in 2019-20. As a result, they qualified for the playoffs as the sixth seed instead of scraping into the eighth seed like they did last season in a play-in game.

They have done this without the services of Zach Collins all season long. They also lost CJ McCollum and Jusuf Nurkic for a period of time through injury which could have seriously derailed the Trail Blazers season,

The Trail Blazers made a trade at the deadline, sending Gary Trent jr to the Toronto Raptors. They received Norman Powell in return and it has been a match made in heaven. Powell is able to play in a three-guard lineup with McCollum and Damian Lillard.

Lillard continued on his quest to become the greatest player in Portland Trail Blazers history. Throughout all the injuries, Lillard carried the Trail Blazers, not letting them slip down the standings in a way similar to last season.

He averaged 28.8 points per game which was the third-highest average in the league behind only Stephen Curry and Bradley Beal. He also averaged 7.5 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game. He took a career-high 10.5 attempts from behind the 3-point arc. His range extends to the logo which certainly helped the team.

The Trail Blazers had a better supporting cast this season which benefitted the team which helped Lillard keep the team in the hunt. With all that in mind, let’s take a look at the 3 goals for their playoff run.
