Reason No. 3: The Orlando Magic’s front office remains confident following the season

It’s been a very good year for the Magic’s front office. Jeff Weltman, the President of Basketball Operations for the Orlando Magic, spoke highly of his expectations of the future during a Zoom session.

"“I can say that in my time here, I’ve never been more excited about the prospects for our team.”"

With the situation that the franchise is in, it should be a big confidence booster to hear that from the front office rather than hearing upset and defeated responses. Approaching the offseason with hope and confidence in your young, unproven players is big for them as well. The Magic will potentially have two first-round picks, as long as the one from Chicago falls outside the top four, that they can use to continue to rebuild and retool their roster.

This upcoming free agency class is full of young and proven players that could find their way to Orlando for the right price. Even then, the potential of those on the roster currently, before the offseason chaos begins, is enough for the front office to look forward to. At this point, the Magic can only improve, and the sky is the limit for these young pieces.

The faith that the front office has in the current roster should make fans excited for what is to come. This team won’t become a contender overnight, but given time to develop, this roster could end up making a playoff appearance or two within the next couple of seasons.
