New York Knicks NBA playoff goals No. 3: Get the ball moving more.

When a team is moving the ball well, they are creating more open shots for themselves. This means that the offense is usually humming. This is true for the Knicks as well, when they move the ball, they are a hard team to stop.

It is not the point guard for the Knicks that controls this however, it is their power forward Randle. He gets the scoreboard moving by scoring the basketball himself, then he brings in his teammates. When Randle does this the Knicks are hard to stop.

The problem is, the ball does not move enough at the moment. Yes, they had 21 assists to the Hawks 17 but it was not enough considering their defense allowed 107 points in the first game, above their regular-season number of 104.7.

The problem for the Knicks is they were 29th in the league in assists per game with only 21.4 per game. The starting five only had six for the first game, Randle had four of those. There were too many one-and-done plays for the Knicks and that is not going to win you many playoff series. It is still a possibility that the Knicks can win this series but it is an uphill climb from here.
