Worst NBA draft pick Cleveland Cavaliers general manager Koby Altman has made: Dylan Windler

To be clear, there are limited choices for who to chose from that Koby Altman has drafted. Since taking over in July 2017, Altman has drafted Collin Sexton, Darius Garland, Dylan Windler, Kevin Porter Jr. and Isaac Okoro. Three of those five players look to be part of the core moving forward for the Cleveland Cavaliers and while Porter has been better than Windler. So far the injuries for Windler have certainly complicated the issue.

The bigger problem with this pick was that Porter needed a support system for him to be able to succeed. His past and off-court issues have been well-chronicled so putting him in a position to succeed would be essential for him to realize his potential.

Unfortunately for the Cavaliers, they remain far from a situation that puts their players in a position to succeed. Kevin Porter Jr. may go down as the best player of this group once all is said and done. His potential is that high, as seen in his 50-point outburst weeks ago for the Houston Rockets. He is in a situation that is looking to put him in a position to succeed. Yet again, Cleveland failed to do just that for the player that needed it the most.
