Worst NBA draft pick Chicago Bulls general manager Marc Eversley has made: Marko Simonovic

The Chicago Bulls hired a general manager during 2020 for the first time in a generation, bringing Marc Eversley in to help run the show in 2020. With just one draft under his belt so far, Eversley picked Patrick Williams with the fourth pick in the draft and so far he has shown potential as a two-way force that will take time to develop as one of the youngest players in the league. His only other pick, Marko Simonovic, has yet to make the leap over to the NBA so for the time being he is the worst pick Eversley has made.

Still just 21 years old, Simonovic has already played for professional teams in Italy, Slovenia and Serbia. He has the chance to make it to the league at some point but at this moment his potential simply pales in comparison to Patrick Williams.

Honestly, this bodes well for Eversley, who is able to say the worst thing about his first draft was that he drafted a stashed European prospect in the second round. Williams is the type of high-risk chance that could make him the savior of Bulls’ basketball going forward. Only time, and more drafts, will tell just how good Eversley is at running a team himself.
