Goal No. 3 for the Miami Heat: Keep feeding Tyler Herro

Since coming back into the lineup after a six-game absence, Tyler Herro has been very hard to stop. He has two games with 24 points or more, including a double-double. He is averaging 20.3 points per game over that stretch.

Why this is important is the Heat need to have as many options going to the basket as possible. Adebayo is going to give you offense, Butler is going to try and carry the team on his back. Duncan Robinson is going to shoot the lights out most nights.

Having a fourth option on the floor like Herro who is going to try and find the seams of the opposition’s defense is crucial. When he is on, he is tremendous. He has hit 14-of-25 from deep over this four-game stretch. This then opens up the floor for his teammates.

The Heat lost Victor Oladipo for the season meaning that the Heat need to rely more on the other players for production. Keeping Herro hot over the remaining games and then at the start of the playoffs is going to give the Heat a much better chance of winning. Without it, the Heat could see a first-round exit.
