The Boston Celtics have not had the campaign they would have thought they were going to after being knocked out of the NBA playoffs in the Eastern Conference Finals last season. Instead of being at the pinnacle of the East, the Celtics are locked in a struggle to get out of the play-in tournament.

Again they are battling with the Miami Heat to move forward but this time it is from seventh. Right now, they would love to finish the season in the sixth seed. They would then be able to make their way straight through to the first round of the playoffs without the extra games of the play-in tournament.

Their problems started in the offseason when they lost Gordon Hayward for nothing when he signed with the Charlotte Hornets.  He had a substantial contract but the reason for that is that Hayward makes everyone around him better and when he is on the court, he earns every cent of it.

The Boston Celtics are having a rough patch to end their season. Here are three goals for them to meet prior to the NBA playoffs

This season Kemba Walker has missed 26 games with injury, Marcus Smart has missed 21 games, and Robert Williams has missed 16 games. While these injuries are not usually an issue, they have been compounded with the loss of Jaylen Brown at the end of the season.

It is difficult to build your chemistry when key players miss time. However, where Brown’s injury hurts them the most is that he is out at the time when they are desperately searching for wins to move up the standings.  With all this in mind, let’s take a look at the three goals for the Boston Celtics prior to the playoffs.
