Memphis Grizzlies NBA playoffs goal No. 2: Continue to develop Desmond Bane

The Grizzlies have a tremendous record over the last few seasons for finding and developing talent. They selected Jackon with pick No. 4 in the 2018 draft and, when healthy, he has developed into a key contributor.

Then in the 2019 draft, they owned the second pick and with it, they selected Morant. We all know the player he has developed into over the last two campaigns. Last season the Grizzlies took Desmond Bane with the 30th pick in the draft.

We all know that late first-round picks are hit and miss as to whether they make it in the league. Well, if the recent play of Bane is anything to go by, he is going to be a solid rotation piece, with the potential to be a long-term starter over his career.

In his rookie season, Bane has 30 games where he has scored 10 points or more. He has three games where he has scored 20 points or more, including two back-to-back 22 point games at the start of May.

The Grizzlies would do well over the coming games of the regular season, and the play in games they play to continue to develop Bane. This will serve them well over the coming seasons as they look to move up the standings.
