Golden State Warriors goal No. 3: Stop fouling

The Warriors are the third-worst franchise when it comes to committing fouls. They commit 21.3 per contest which is too many considering they also turn the ball over at one of the worst rates in the entire league as well. Either one is able to be covered by their incredible shooting, having both issues can be a problem.

The biggest issue with the Warriors is that they are getting into the bonus early in most quarters which is giving their opposition free points at the end of the quarters. The Warriors are relying on the supreme shooting of Curry to keep them in games.

When he has an off night, this is not sustainable. This is especially true going into playoff basketball where teams have up to seven games to gameplan a way to stop Curry. If they make it through the play-in tournament then they could easily go out in the first round.

The other issue for the Warriors is that they need to keep their best players on the court for as long as they can. Their defensive leader is Draymond Green, who also leads the franchise with 3.2 fouls per game. While he has almost become a liability offensively, he is still a solid team defender and the Warriors need him on the hardwood playing, not sitting on the bench.
