The Golden State Warriors started the season off on the back foot. They received the terrible news that Klay Thompson was going to be out for the season. However, the Warriors did not lament another lost season, they made moves to try and compete at a higher level than last season.

They selected James Wiseman in the draft when there was a strong thought that they might trade the pick. The young center has shown great potential before a knee injury ended his season after just 39 games.

They signed Kent Bazemore as a free agent at the start of the season and also traded a first-round and second-round pick to the OKC Thunder for Kelly Oubre. This move did not pay dividends at the start of the season, but as the season has gone on, Oubre has shown that he has fit into the Warriors’ systems.

The Golden State Warriors are likely to end up in the play-in tournament given they have not had Klay Thompson. Here are 3 goals for them down the stretch.

The Warriors have always had two main stars that they have relied on over the years. It has been Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson for a number of years. This season, it has been Curry and last season’s acquisition Andrew Wiggins.

Draymond Green has also been there, defending and facilitating but this season he has not been scoring, only averaging 6.8 points per game. As a 3-time All-Star on a team who is missing one of the team’s best players, he needed to step up to a greater role on the court.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at three goals down the stretch of the season.
