New Orleans Pelicans goal No. 1: Develop some better perimeter offense

The Pelicans have one of the worst perimeter offenses in the league. They attempt 30.5 shots from deep per game, which is 25th in the NBA. They make only 10.7 per game which is only good for 27th in the league.

This means that they are shooting at 35.0 percent from deep which has them ranked 26th in the league. This is despite Brandon Ingram shooting 6.1 attempts at 38.1 percent and Ball shooting 8.3 attempts at 37.8 percent.

The Pelicans traded J.J. Redick away at the deadline who was shooting at 36.4 percent on 4.5 attempts per game. Neither James Johnson nor Wesley Iwundu is going to help a perimeter offense a great deal.

The ball is moving around as shown by the fact the Pelicans are 10th in assists. However, with such a strong presence inside, where the Pelicans are eighth in the league in 2-point field goal percentage, the perimeter offense has struggled.

If the Pelicans can find more open looks in the final couple of weeks of the season, then this will help them in the future. This will then open the floor up for Williamson to be an even greater offensive threat.
