April 2021 will go down as the month that Stephen Curry reasserted himself as one of the best players in the league for anyone who had stopped paying attention. It is easy to forget how dominant he was when he won consecutive MVPs or try to downgrade him for playing on super teams. But if you needed a reminder of his greatness, this month did just that.
In 15 games, Curry averaged an absurd 37.3 points per game on shooting splits of .518/.466/.908. He has forced his way into the race for the scoring title, leading Bradley Beal at the end of April 31.3 to 31.1. You could try to explain this away as unsustainable, but that would just be not understanding just who Stephen Curry is.
It is definitely bothersome that the Warriors season has turned more into the Steph Curry show than about developing the young talent but such is their injury fate this season. Rather than complaining about how that is bad luck, it is better to just embrace this season for what it is. It is a rare thing what Curry is doing this season and it is hard to imagine he has too many more of these left in him. Enjoy watching the best what he does best.
