OKC Thunder season goal No. 2: Talent Assessment

As part of any rebuild, talent assessment is crucial. The Thunder are looking to see what they have in all of the players mentioned above but there is so much more to it than just individual growth which must be considered.

Every time that a player hits the court this season for the Thunder, they are looking at how their game works with the rest of the team. For example, at the start of the season, Pokusevski was Dragan Bender 2.0, a tall player who, reportedly, could shoot but failed when he hit an NBA court.

He has shown that he has the ability to make it in the NBA, as has Maledon who has delivered on the promise of his draft profile. Williams has shown that if you hustle more than the next guy, you will do good things for your team.

Unfortunately for the Thunder, they are missing their star player in Gilgeous-Alexander and this means that they are unable to assess with certainty how each player will fit with the third-year pro. However, the coaching staff are running the same systems and can assess each player based on that.
