The Detroit Pistons have settled into the bottom tier of NBA teams this season, but that doesn’t mean that there’s nothing left to watch. Aside from rooting for all-important losses to improve their chances in the draft lottery, they have a handful of players to watch who have been thrust into new opportunities.

They won’t win many games, but that’s not the point with this team anymore. Development is the goal now, and that process is totally divorced from the winning and losing side of things.

4 players who could go on a tear down the stretch for the Detroit Pistons

This is a team that has gone through an incredible amount of turnover so far this season. Just between the end of last season and the beginning of this season, all but four players were sent packing. Of those four, Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk and Derrick Rose have been traded, and Blake Griffin was bought out.

Only Sekou Doumbouya remains from last season’s Detroit Pistons squad.

Thanks to this massive level of turnover, plenty of players have gotten an opportunity to strut their stuff, and a handful of surprising players have made the most of it. Saben Lee has been an absolute revelation at point guard, and fellow rookies Saddiq Bey and Isaiah Stewart have been magnificent.

Opportunity is everything in the NBA, and Detroit has been the home of opportunity. We’ll take a look at four players who are poised to make the most of their chance in the final month of the season for the Pistons.
