Now that the NBA trade deadline has passed and the majority of the buyout craziness has sorted itself out, the only thing to talk about is the actual games that are being played. The rosters are almost entirely set for the run to the postseason so now we are finally able to sit back and determine some of the trends that could be predictive of what will happen in May, June and July.

Given that thought process, this week’s NBA power rankings will look back at the month of March to track trends that could be used to forecast what is coming over the final quarter of the season. There has been plenty of information circulating in recent weeks, whether it be quotes from J.J. Redick or the emergence of a suddenly rolling team, to indicate where teams will be going as the NBA season is entering the home stretch.

The Denver Nuggets made their big move at the deadline, shaking up the NBA’s power structure. Where does each team rank as the end of the season nears?

It is easy to miss what some of the lower-tier teams are doing when freaking out about the buyout market unfairly benefitting the Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Lakers (it’s not). In fact, there are other teams continuing to play games, fighting for the play-in game or the postseason. Others are seeing what they have in their young core and what they can build on for the future. Finally, the first team on this list seems to be operating solely out of delusion.
